They’re not pictured between these bookends, but the original Garfield books were one of the first American comic strip collections to reprint every single strip in chronological order, from the beginning, and without skipping a single day. For aficionados of any comic strip, this is a pitifully rare achievement.

With schools in the United States called Garfield School (named for the president), I wonder if any teachers at a Garfield School used these bookends to store books in their classroom.

It would make sense to me, but who knows. These certainly look cuter and more decorative than James Garfield bookends would.
